Wednesday 7th April
“Back in our day”
Wednesday will be a blast from the past! We will be running our holiday club as normal but we are unfortunately stuck 20 years behind. Staff will use little to no modern games. Children will be tasked to design their own games, Parents you can help with this one (we’re not saying you are old!), what games did you play when you were young? can you give them a helping hand leading up to this day. Each child is challenged to bring in one thing, this may be an item, story or photo that is over 20 years old for a little show and tell. This day will include an old fashioned school sports day, any fancy dress will be instant bonus points.
Thursday 8th April
“Pirates of the heinzbeans’
Our very own spin on this pirate classic, You better have fun this Thursday or you will be walking the plank!! In our pirate themed day we will be working together within our groups to create a large pirate ship using our environment and resources. Following on from the creation of the best pirate ship ever we will take a long voyage to treasure island where our mini pirates will take on the treasure hunt using maps and clever clues… but can they find them all in time?
Children encouraged to bring in any pirate/boat themed items/clothing they have for this day, no live parrots though, I’ll repeat that no live parrots though!
Until then, scrub the decks!
Friday 9th April
“The Deep Blue Sea”
We will be our own little David Attenboroughs today as we explore all that lives in our oceans and seas, you are going to have a WHALE of a time. Our day will begin with some shark design and some PE themed games around the ocean. Later in the day we will be having our own cruise experience with a maritime related tasting session where kids will try some food that comes from the oceans and seas we are learning about, (please make staff aware of any allergies leading up to this event). Our final task will be looking at designing the perfect habitat for an ORCA, this is something that is a key topic in the news currently, children will be giving some key information about this animal, there will then be a child led activity where the kids will design their own enclosure; this may be on paper, 3d or any other idea that us adults can’t think about!
See you then, don’t forget your flippers though!
