Important Info for Summer Holidays 2019

Arrival times

Morning sessions run from 8am to 1pm, afternoon sessions from 1pm to 6pm. Please feel free to drop your child off or pick them up at anytime except when there are trips. On these days all children must arrive by 9.15am at the very latest or 1.15pm for an afternoon trip. If they are late the staff and other children may have already left and you will not be able to leave your child for that session.

Children who attend full day sessions will need to bring a packed lunch. Breakfast and tea are included in the price. We can not store packed lunches in a fridge so suggest you use an ice block. We do have a healthy eating policy so would encourage you to pack a healthy lunch for your children to help us with this. Lunches are usually eaten between 12 and 1pm so sometimes children only in for the morning like to have a packed lunch too.

We do where possible spend a lot of time playing outside. There is plenty of shade in our play area thanks to some big trees, however inevitably the children spend time out in the sunshine. If you would like your children to wear sun screen please apply it before they arrive. If it will need topping up during the course of the day please bring a labelled bottle and hand it to the staff. You will be asked to complete a permission slip allowing the staff to apply the cream. We would encourage the older children to apply their own cream but do acknowledge that for effective coverage younger children will need help.

What to bring

Please ensure you provide your children with suncream, hat and coat as appropriate for our wonderful British weather. On trip days also please send them with a bottle of water. Please do not send them with a back pack full of things to take on the trip. The staff have said that some children struggle with the amount they have to carry. A packed lunch, drink, coat and hat (weather dependent) is all they need. On days when water play is scheduled please send them with a towel and a complete spare set of clothes. They do get wet, literally through to the skin sometimes. We would also suggest that children never wear best clothes to attend any sessions – we often do messy activities.

What not to bring

We would prefer that children did not bring their own hand held computer games to the Club but we do not ban them. We find that children who do bring them tend to not partake and enjoy themselves as much. Time allowed on them will be restricted to between 8 and 9.30 am in the morning, for 30 minutes around lunchtime at the staff’s discretion and between 5pm and 6pm. We accept no responsibility for lost games or consoles. Children must not use the camera on any handheld device, for safe guarding reasons.

Arrival and Departure Procedures

Please make sure that you sign your child in and out on the registers with a note of the time. On trip and workshop days this signature is also giving permission for your child to partake in the trip or activity for that day. This will be noted at the top of the register when relevant. If you have made a late booking and there has not been time to print off and get a hard copy of your child’s registration form to the Club you may be asked to fill out a paper copy before you leave your child.

We do ask that you ensure you arrive no later than 6pm as we only have the premises until this time. Anybody collecting later will be charged £10 per 15 minutes towards staff and hire costs incurred.

All trips have a full risk assessment carried out beforehand, a First Aid kit and emergency contact details for the children are carried by the staff.

We will be using a private bus company for all trips.

Special Needs

Please let us know of any special needs that your child has before they attend the club.
