Summer Holiday, 16th-20th August, Week 4: Festival Week

Full day session: 8am to 6pm, includes breakfast and tea
Between the ages of 4 and 13. Unfortunately we cannot accept three year olds.

Monday 16th August
The Festival of Light:
The first day of our festival week, we will be exploring the festival of light, we are going to start the morning with creating some reflecting wind chimes. We are going to try some shadow painting whilst working in groups to see what we can design.
In the afternoon, we are going to have a mini rave with the use of UV light, glowsticks and high vis colours, get the tunes on!
Tuesday 17th August
Cup of ‘T in the Park”:
Bucket hats and sunglasses encouraged!! We are in for a day of music, flowers in your hair and fun! Followed by our drumming specialist coming in the afternoon to get the rhythm flowing and adding to our festival experience with all of us having a do at some group drumming.
Wednesday 18th August
Festival of Food:
Food is such a large part of our lives, today we will be celebrating, making and trying some different types of food, doing some research around where they have come from and what they do for our bodies
In the morning, we have Nathan our coach in to teach some key movement and play based skills through the power of sport.
Thursday 19th August
The Carnival:
In the morning we will have some carnival dance with our dance teacher!
In the afternoon we will have our own little carnival with some carnival games… like coconut shy and even a hook a duck!
Friday 20th August
Festival of Art:
Within out final day of festival week, we will be celebrating art in all its forms, with activities ranging from painting, body paint and outdoor chalk designs.
We will then look at tracing some designs of objects found in our outdoor area.
As an end of week cool off we will be getting out the super soakers and having water fun so bring a complete change of clothes and a towel if you want to join in.
